Miren is a lifelong learner, passionate entrepreneur, and firm believer in the power of business to build a better world. Her journey began unexpectedly—teaching swim lessons in backyard pools to support her young son while still in college. That small step grew into Ocaquatics Swim School, now a thriving company with five indoor, warm-water facilities in Miami, a team of over 165 dedicated individuals, and a mission to make families safer around water.
Over the past 30 years, Miren has gained deep insight into leadership, resilience, and building a people-first business. Today, Ocaquatics is proud to be a Certified B Corporation and 100% employee-owned through an Employee Ownership Trust. Miren shares her story to inspire others to grow businesses that care for people, protect the planet, and achieve lasting success.
